Jan 02 Rented an Escalade IQ for our family trip this week, hoping it could be the big family of 6 EV of my dreams. Only thing it has done is convince me I will likely never buy another car that isn’t a Tesla for the rest of my life. Would rather drive two of them to the airport to fit everyone and our luggage than one of these 🫠 878 16 104 119.5k 326 .
Dec 27 Is anyone using Claude Code or similar for stuff that isn't coding at all, purely because it's nice to have access to local files and stuff? I use AI as a thinking partner constantly, and not having persistent references is starting to become annoying, but worried the CLI tools are tuned too much for programming and not business strategy for example. 1.1k 23 411 220.1k 353 .

Dec 18 Just shipped Oatmeal — our first multi-theme marketing site kit for Tailwind Plus 🥣 Multiple color and font options, and a big collection of highly composable elements that you can piece together into exactly the site you need. https://t.co/7Q4rgmbskK 1.1k 29 42 104.7k 252 .

Dec 12 I really wish APIs like this were compatible with React Server Components... No interactivity, no context, just a callback passed between two components that I want rendered on the server. https://t.co/LEBWH2GsxG 272 4 18 170.7k 213 .
Dec 11 It's wild that Tailwind is so ubiquitous at this point that a company can launch a visual Tailwind editor without it even seeming important to say the word "Tailwind" 😄 Proud of that honestly, and very cool demo! Cursor is a fantastic product and an exciting team to follow. 1.9k 36 56 177.3k 275 .
Dec 06 With the existence of Inertia.js, I really think you've got to be a masochist to try and build delightful, interactive apps without using a framework designed for UI to build the UI. It's just such an uphill battle otherwise, and I don't understand why you'd do it. 415 9 20 101.8k 266 .
Dec 02 One of you AI companies better buy us next or I'm going to make a bunch of breaking changes and invalidate all of the code you generate. 9.9k 393 329 615.5k 136 .
Nov 26 My biggest regret in life is not putting 405 on the bar instead of 400 on this day back in 2015. https://t.co/LRSyax3JGy 3.5k 8 346 2.14M 120 .

Oct 12 Something I've started doing lately is moving all of my styles to the root element. This keeps all of the styling in one place, and keeps the rest of my code super clean ✨ 😏 https://t.co/9qA9XImo7v 710 28 76 365k 199 .

Sep 29 What's everyone using for sharing large files on teams these days (like raw video files to share with an editor)? Are we still just using Dropbox or is there something better out there now? 158 2 123 109.6k 189 .
Sep 26 In hindsight, it's very fucked up how stressed I used to be worrying about someone PRing a banner for some political cause to one of my docs sites and having to somehow say "no I don't want to get involved in this" without getting attacked by the mob. 2.6k 54 69 302.9k 251 .
Sep 19 I'm so excited about what @paper is building, so we're joining their journey as investors and partners to do whatever we can to help make Paper the absolute best design tool in the world for modern web teams. A free-form design tool built around the DOM has so much potential to completely change the way we go from design to code. Imagine designing something in Paper, then just being able to right-click and copy as perfect HTML + Tailwind. Or taking an existing code component and importing it into Paper to edit as if it were a Figma file. I think a few years from now we'll laugh about the hand-off process we put up with today, and I'm excited to support the @paper team as they completely reimagine how we design and deliver UIs for the web 🚀 2.1k 114 111 392.4k 753 .

Aug 22 For the last few weeks I've been working on in-depth video course for Tailwind CSS v4. I'm calling it "Tailwind CSS by Example" ✨ It'll be the ultimate crash course in building with Tailwind, the way it was designed to be done. https://t.co/QtCgT2o0Oq 1.4k 77 30 105.2k 253 .

Aug 14 The absolute far and away best feature of React is the ability to define multiple components in one file. I will tolerate all sorts of other pain to be able to do this. 882 19 64 114.2k 168 .
Aug 07 I'd like to formally apologize for making every button in Tailwind UI `bg-indigo-500` five years ago, leading to every AI generated UI on earth also being indigo. 22.7k 1.1k 415 1.37M 162 .

Jul 04 Finally launched a sponsorship program for Tailwind CSS, with a bunch of cool perks ✨ 💬 Private Discord community to connect with the team 🤖 Cursor/Claude rules for generating better Tailwind output 🎨 Beautiful custom VS Code themes 🔍 Raycast extension with lots of little productivity features 📚 Early documentation for pre-release builds 🫣 Behind-the-scenes source code + Figma files for all the little demos we build for social media + YouTube We're calling it Tailwind Insiders 🚀 Link is in the reply! 1k 71 35 383.9k 507 .

Jun 02 If you've at all been thinking "automating stuff with AI sounds awesome but man it's probably super hard and I don't think I can learn that", I urge you to read this post. It's way, way easier than you are worried it is. https://t.co/O59xRlKqI0 3.7k 221 44 474.1k 245 .

May 23 We've been hacking on a "vanilla" version of Headless UI that uses custom elements and no framework. Just a <script> tag pointed at a CDN, and you can build custom dropdowns, dialogs, popovers, tabs, and more, without writing any JS at all ✨ Love letter to our Rails users ❤️ https://t.co/mjoGUYk12Q 1.3k 62 87 123.1k 307 .
May 21 My mind changed re: programming with AI as soon as I realized how much of the stuff I do when "programming" is just tedious grunt work. Programming with AI actually frees me up to do more programming, not less. https://t.co/mZdbJ9BMdB 790 41 45 143.6k 235 .
May 13 Course platform starter kit we've been cooking up for the last few weeks! Hoping to get it out today, just need to rip through the stupid blog post 🙃 https://t.co/c1bhjxDSai 565 27 22 137.2k 173 .

May 01 Some secret design sauce — never use gray borders with shadows. Use a semi-transparent outline instead, so the bottom edge blends with the shadow and gets darker instead of turning into mud. Subtle, but once you see it you can't unsee it. https://t.co/S5iRfV0jQD 3.4k 110 49 219.2k 264 .
Apr 23 My opinion on the “pointer cursor for buttons” thing: 👆🏻Pointer: “I can cmd+click to open this in a new tab” ↖️ Default: “Cmd+click is futile” Useful information in my opinion 👍🏻 873 21 38 112.7k 180 .

Apr 14 It's 2014. You're writing code in Sublime Text, managing projects in Trello, and building UIs with Bootstrap 3. You don't know it yet, but this is as good as things will ever get, and it's only downhill from here. 6.5k 387 239 343.8k 215 .

Apr 01 Big news — we've partnered with Apple to integrate Tailwind CSS into Safari directly, making it the first browser that can render Tailwind sites with 0kb of CSS over the wire. Do your part and ship your sites with no CSS file to force other browsers to do the same 🤘🏻 4.1k 235 152 494.8k 268 .
