Also, while this new Miele is better than the absolutely awful Gaggenau setup we had before, it's still retarded. All controls are on a touch screen, so of course it's sluggish. The gas-vented LG we have in the US is with a dial and buttons. Infinitely nicer to use.

I've just heard from another major, well-known tech company that's considering making Omarchy their prescribed Linux distribution. Mission Control isn't kidding. We might finally see The Year of Linux On The (Developer) Desktop come true!

This is awesome! Imagine working for a company so cool that they give you an Omarchy machine when you start!
Early days Rails had this too. The cachet of being pioneers and attracting top talent that really responded to that.

"You must learn to handle the nights" is one of my favorite Jim Rohn passages. Echoing ancient Stoic wisdom with an endearingly memorable metaphor. https://t.co/XRqygX7bZ4

Arch made the list! Right there at 89.5%. Only Linux distribution even on there. I knew those self-deprecatint memes had it wrong. (Archery is the act of running Arch, right?)

The amount of human capital squandered trying to work in 26C or get a good night's sleep in such heat is tragic. Anything over 24C in the office, and I'm ready to zone out. <19C in the bedroom at night is a must too. https://t.co/oAUzgsGDf2

Degrowth mafia strikes again! The lack of air conditioning in much of Europe on the basis of saving energy is dumb, but did you know this is also why you can't have efficient dryers that don't make washing clothes a whole-day affair? We need to produce more energy, not use less. https://t.co/ySM2sFAIdk

Turns out the outages for the AUR and https://t.co/AYjyWJp8wM aren't just a case of computers gone bad. There's a coordinated DDoS attack in progress. I really hope it doesn't have anything to do with all the attention Omarchy is getting, but either way, we will get it sorted.

The problems seem to be ongoing for the AUR and now even https://t.co/AYjyWJp8wM. Is this a coordinated attack? Just some overloaded servers? Whatever is the problem, we can fix it. Quickly. But I need to reach whoever runs the show to offer help. Surprisingly hard to do!

Neovim is the default editor for Omarchy. It's easy to install VSCode, Cursor, Zed, or whatever on the side, but you really should try to give it a go β and having @typecraft_dev help you how for free is a great deal!

I also think it's good to have in-group jokes, memes, and levity. We don't have to be in a constant state of solumn propriety. We can walk that line just fine. Not so serious it's all drab, but serious enough that we mean it.

Who says (b)romance is dead?! π
But seriously, I think we are better off when it's kosher to earnestly be able to just say "I appreciate you and your work" without the virtue-signaling caveats and asterisks.

I've been thinking about whether someone would do this! The 11" Air was the last MacBook I truly loved. Glorious keyboard travel, superb size. I have mad respect for M-series machines, but this Air was magic. Omarchy Air π€

I've only been on Linux for 18 months, so it's a real point of pride that Omarchy appeals to both recent converts and long-time Linux users alike. Beautiful, fun, and simple software for all βοΈ

AUR still seems to be struggling on and off. I'd really like to help get this resolved. Got a lot of friends in this industry with interest in doing the same. Can someone connect us? Here's a public offer of assistance to the general mailing list: https://t.co/v0i60cidse

@BrendanEich Anyway, Brendan has had the last laugh. Brave is thriving, Mozilla is floundering. But it still wasn't right. And I'm embarrassed for letting it happen like it did back then. We all should be. And we should say
"never again" and "I'm sorry, Brendan". I am. Sorry.
